DSDP/ODP Downhole Porewater Profile Plotting

BACK TO BIOGEOCHEMICAL MAPS

Instructions:

Enter a DSDP or ODP site number without the hole designation. All holes are combined into a single site plot. If the plot is empty, then there is not data for the chosen chemical species at the desired site. Pick an inorganic species from the first pull down menu, and if desired a second inorganic species or methane from the second menu.

Data Notes:

  • All inorganic data (i.e. all data except methane) are dissolved porewater concentrations and have not been edited beyond what DSDP/ODP have done with the exception that all samples with a "contamination" flag in the original DSDP/ODP database have been removed.
  • The methane data include only headspace measurements. No vacutainer samples are included and no sample volume normalization has been done. The methane data have not been edited beyond what ODP has done.
